Tuesday, September 16th, 2008Midwest to East Coast.
We left Ohio and headed into New York. The Watershed went great and thanks to some help from Low Vs Diamond, we got the van loaded before a wicked storm hit. At the same time, we had interviews with radio stations in Australia until 1:30 that morning and we drove to Albany and checked in at 3:30. Today we are picking up Randy and starting our rehearsals with him while Max is out. We got out of Albany to Boston picked up Randy got to the hotel and then an hour later the guys rehearsed until 12 am. The next day we got up and rehearsed again until 2 and I went with Rizzo for two Radio Interviews and then straight to load-in and soundcheck for the show with FNX we had. The show went great!!! The room was so full you could hardly move! Thank you all for joining us!
New York
So right now we are in Boston on our way to New York city for a night at the Bowery Ballroom. I take pictures every day still but in so many ways they only capture a moment that seems to be moving faster than any dream I’ve had the chance to run in. There have been days now that seem to change like a snooze alarm, one minute we are awake in a new beautiful city with beautiful people smiling and singing with us and next we wake up in the middle of a gas station watching the sun go down over a cornfield overburdened with an abundance aching for the harvest. There are so many things that we are all so grateful for right now and while we are in our locker room of a home on wheels I just want to say thank you to every radio station, every person who has bought a CD from us and everyone who has been working so hard to give us a chance and working so hard on this record. So far in the last two weeks we have been to so many places and still we are not finished. The mid west has been an adventure with cab drivers that want to be vampires, to some an education in bio mimicry … check that one out it might be what saves us all in the long run. We are looking forward to meeting everyone on the east coast this week !
From Bowery Ball Room To Richmond VA
We get to New York after our show in Boston at 3:30 am and it turns out the Holiday Inn has given away our rooms so at around 4:30 Hotwire.com tells us that we can get any hotel that we can find. We get 7 rooms at the SOHO Grande!! But we didn’t get to bed until 6:30 or so. We had a meeting at 1pm then load in, sound check, a quick photo shoot then we had our show. Needless to say we were all extremely tired. The show went well and we made some great new friends there. Sadly we sent Max home until October. We left New York thinking that we could get to Hartford before 3 but traffic was awful. It took us 5 hours to get there. Randy killed it. It was our first night with him after the practice that we had in Boston. We took off and from the gig and went to Fox Hills for our show with Chris Daughtry.
And don’t forget to check us out on tour with THE ACADEMY IS…
